Caitlin + Chris' backyard wedding in Cumberland, Maine
How sweet is this story - from Caitlin:
"Chris’s nephew Noah was in my kindergarten class last year. Upon meeting me for the first time, Kelley (Chris’s sister) went home and announced that she had just met the future Aunt McCarthy. A few months later, Kelley reached out to me with a very carefully worded email, asking if I would be interested in meeting her younger brother. After debating the pros and cons for a few days ( I was worried it would be considered unprofessional) I decided to go for it. It had proven much harder to meet my person and I clearly needed some help! Chris and I met soon after for a cup of tea which merged into a yummy lunch at North Point. We’ve been together ever since.
Chris proposed on December 23 by putting my ring and ring box in our Christmas tree. Apparently I responded initially by saying his name… “Chris Jones” several times and “Really?”. We then jumped into the car and drove towards Bangor to celebrate with my family. On Christmas morning after opening gifts with my family we drove south again to share our news and celebrate with his family in Kennebunkport.
We now live together in South Portland with our orange tiger cat, Elliot Charles and our lab mix pup, Piper. I work as a first grade teacher and Chris is a carpenter. We hope to build our dream house in a few years."
